Disclaimer

In short: Kwyper is journalism, not advice. Car prices, specifications, incentives and availability change constantly and differ from one country to the next, so treat what you read here as a starting point and confirm anything important with the manufacturer, a dealer or a qualified mechanic before you act on it.

General

Kwyper.com is published by Ranqueei Digital LTDA. Everything on it is written for general interest and general education. It is not professional, legal, financial, insurance, tax or mechanical advice, and it is not tailored to your car, your budget or the rules where you live. Reading Kwyper creates no professional relationship between us. We take care to get things right, and we correct what we get wrong, but we cannot guarantee that every sentence is accurate, complete or still current when you read it.

Specifications, prices and availability

This is the part that catches people out most often. Car figures are moving targets.

  • Prices change with the model year, with currency, with local taxes and with what a dealer is willing to do that week. A price we quote is the one published for a named market on the date of the article.
  • Incentives, grants and tax breaks for electric and hybrid cars are set by governments and are withdrawn, capped or rewritten at short notice. Check the current position with the relevant authority before you count on it.
  • Range, efficiency and charging figures come from official test cycles. WLTP in Europe and EPA in the United States measure differently, so the same car has two different numbers. Neither cycle promises what you will see in cold weather, on a motorway or with a full car.
  • Trim levels, equipment and even model names differ between the US, the UK and each European market. A feature that is standard in one country can be an option or unavailable in another.
  • Launch dates and availability slip. A car confirmed for one market may never reach yours.

Confirm any figure that will cost you money with the manufacturer’s official site for your country or with an official dealer, and get it in writing before you sign anything.

Maintenance, repairs and modifications

Our maintenance and do-it-yourself articles describe how something generally works. They are not a workshop manual for your vehicle. Procedures, torque figures, fluid specifications and service intervals vary by model, engine and model year, and getting one wrong can be expensive or dangerous.

Always follow your owner’s manual and the manufacturer’s official service information. Work you are not confident about, and anything touching brakes, steering, airbags, fuel or a high-voltage battery, belongs with a qualified mechanic. Modifying a car can affect its warranty, its insurance and whether it is legal to drive. That is your responsibility, not ours.

Motorsport results and standings

Formula 1 and other motorsport results reflect the position at the time we published. Results are provisional until the stewards confirm them, penalties and appeals can change a classification hours or days after a race, and championship tables move every weekend. For the official position, check the governing body or the series itself.

No endorsement

Naming a car maker, a model, a dealer, a tyre or a workshop is not an endorsement, and criticising one is our honest opinion rather than a statement of fact. No manufacturer sponsors, approves or reviews our coverage. Trade marks and model names belong to the companies that own them and are used here only to identify what we are writing about.

External links

We link out to manufacturers, regulators, results sites and other publications so you can check our work. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or how they handle your data. A link is a pointer, not a recommendation. Some links are affiliate links, which are explained on our Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure page.

Errors and omissions

We will get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we want to know. Tell us through the contact form or at [email protected], and point us at the article and the sentence. Our Corrections Policy explains what we do next and how a corrected article is labelled. The limits on our legal liability are set out in our Terms of Use.
